Matt strolls down the sandy shore,
With ocean waves that crash and roar.
The salty breeze plays through his hair,
Sunlight dancing everywhere.
His footprints trail, a fleeting mark,
Seagulls call, their voices stark.
The water cool against his skin,
Inviting him to dive right in.
He rides the waves with steady grace,
A smile bright upon his face.
The surfboard lifts, the current sways,
He carves the sea in fleeting plays.
As sunset paints the sky in gold,
The air grows calm, the breeze turns cold.
Matt leans back upon the sand,
A drink in hand, toes in the land.
With one last look at ocean’s might,
He sighs and whispers to the night,
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be,
Than here beside the endless sea.”
