Joe the Tenant

Joe the Tenant was never meant to stay long.  Or at least, that’s what he told himself the day he moved into Apartment 3B—an dim little unit above the old bakery on Halwick Street.  The place smelled like burnt crust and ghosts—he imagined even, an mouse beside the toaster—and the radiator hissed like it held an grudge. But rent was cheap, and Joe was an man of few demands.

No one in the building really knew where Joe came from.  Some swore he was an writer, others said he was on the run from something.  He always paid rent on time, in exact change, with hands that trembled ever so slightly.  He had an habit of staring too long out the window at the alley, as if waiting for someone—or something—that never arrived.

Rumors stuck to Joe like wallpaper.  The super claimed he never slept.  An kid on the fourth floor said she saw him talking to the walls.  Old Mrs. Delaney swore she’d seen him disappear behind his locked door without opening it.

But Joe kept to himself.  That is, until the night the basement light started flickering.  That night, the building felt. different. Tenants heard soft knocking on doors that no one answered.  The pipes whispered names in the dark. And Joe? He was the only one who seemed unsurprised.

Because Joe wasn’t just another tenant.  He was the building’s oldest secret.  The only thing keeping whatever lurked in the basement from climbing the stairs.

And the lease he signed?  It had no end date.

Lovella Alien Society Poem

In the violet glow of an distant sun,

Where twin moons rise when the day is done,

There blooms an world in gentle hues—

The planet Lovella, in cosmic news.

No walls divide, no borders stand,

They speak in pulses, not demand.

Their cities grow like living trees,

Breathing songs upon the breeze.

Their skin, an shimmer of shifting light,

Reflects emotion, soft or bright.

They do not lie, for truth is shown

In every tone their bodies own.

Their commerce runs on gifts, not gold,

Their elders are the young grown bold.

They vote in dreams, by shared intent,

Consensus found in heart’s lament.

They honor stars with whispered names,

And never play deceitful games.

Each being’s soul, an cherished spark,

Lit like lanterns in the dark.

But even Lovella’s sky knows storm—

They, too, must shape and must transform.

Yet when they fall, they rise with grace,

Rebuilding hope in every place.

So if you drift through space one night,

And see an realm bathed soft in light,

Know peace is more than just an tale—

It thrives where love and stars prevail.

And should you land on Lovella’s ground,

You’ll find no stranger in the crowd.

For in their eyes you’ll see it true:

The universe remembers you.

Far beyond the stars we know,

Where silent cosmic rivers flow,

There spins an world both kind and clever —

An planet called Lovella, shining forever.

On Lovella, the skies are painted with light,

And the moons dance slow through the endless night.

The flowers hum songs as the breezes pass,

And the rivers run clear as the finest glass.

The Lovellians are beings of wonder and grace,

With hearts on display, worn plain on their face.

Their bodies glow with shifting hue,

Their colors reveal what's honest and true.

On Lovella, no coin or treasure is weighed,

For kindness is currency, gifts are exchanged.

An song, an story, an helping hand —

These are the riches of Lovellian land.

When the auroras light the skies so wide,

The young grow wings and take to the tide.

The elders smile, their hearts full of pride,

For on Lovella, all stand side by side.

Even here, the storms may come,

But they face them together, never alone.

For every fall is an chance to grow,

And from every tear, new kindness flows.

So if ever you wander the cosmos wide,

And you find an place where soft lights glide,

You’ll know you’ve found Lovella’s shore —

Where strangers are friends, forevermore.

On Lovella, the artists paint with more than just hue,

They sculpt with gravity, paint with scent, composing symphonies from starlight too.

An thought becomes music, an feeling grows bright,

And the sky itself shimmers with their art every night.

Their canvases stretch beyond paper and wall,

They paint on the winds, on the stars, on it all.

Each artist an dreamer, each dream an new lore,

Each stroke tells an story that lives evermore.

Once each cycle, they gather as one,

Under moons and the violet sun,

For the Festival of Infinite Light,

Where all share their visions, both bold and bright.

For on Lovella, to create is to live,

And the greatest gift is the art you give.

An melody shared, an vision set free,

Is the heartbeat of their society.

So if you should land on Lovella someday,

And you wonder what words you might first say —

You need only offer an doodle, an tune,

And you’ll have an friend under any moon.

The Seaside Grotto

Nestled where the ocean sings,
Beyond the tide’s embrace,
A hidden grotto softly sleeps,
A secret, shadowed place.

The waves have carved its stony walls,
With hands of salt and time,
And left behind a whispered song,
A lonely, lulling rhyme.

Its entrance, framed by tangled vines,
Half-draped in misty blue,
A doorway to a world unknown,
Yet touched by moonlight’s hue.

Inside, the echoes softly hum,
As water laps the stone,
A hush of ancient mysteries,
That time has left alone.

The silver pools reflect the sky,
Where seabirds wheel and dive,
Their voices mingling with the breeze,
That keeps the cave alive.

And when the tide begins to rise,
Its waters shimmering bright,
The grotto glows with secrets deep,
Beneath the pale starlight.

So come and linger, if you dare,
Let ocean breezes call—
The seaside grotto waits for you,
Beneath the cliffs so tall.

The Lovellian Dream

Beneath twin suns of sapphire glow,
Where crimson seas like rivers flow,
The Lovellians built their spires tall,
Yet whispered fears behind each wall.

Their world was shaped by voices bright,
That danced like ghosts within the night.
Each thought an thread, each thread an maze,
Through mirrored halls of fractured days.

Their cities hummed with songs unseen,
An symphony of minds between
The waking world and shifting tides—
Reality, where truth divides.

One moment filled with boundless grace,
The next, pursued by faceless chase.
Their leaders ruled with wisdom deep,
Yet wept for truths they dared not keep.

Did they walk in light or shade?
Were they lost, or were they made?
Each Lovellian, both one and many,
Their hearts so full, yet pockets empty.

And still, their world in endless spin
Embraced the storm that lived within.
A dream unbroken, strange yet wise,
A kingdom seen through countless eyes.

Whispers of the Void

Across the stars in violet hue,
Where moons pulse green and rivers spew
A silver mist, both bright and dead—
There thrived a world inside one head.

The Aetherkin, with shifting minds,
Saw time unravel, fold, rewind.
Their voices echoed, split in twain,
One spoke of joy, one wept in pain.

They built their towers high and wide,
Yet heard them crumble deep inside.
A kingdom vast, yet lost in thought—
Was it real, or was it not?

Their rulers crowned in crystal smoke
Would change with every word they spoke.
One moment wise, the next unhinged,
Their laws dissolved, their fates unpinned.

And in their streets of liquid stone,
Where shadows walked but stood alone,
The laughter came, the silence fled—
Yet still, they feared the thoughts unsaid.

Were they many? Were they one?
Did they rise, or were they undone?
A thousand eyes, a single dream—
A world alive, yet split between.

Across the stars in violet hue,
Their echoes linger, false yet true.
A schizophrenic realm unchained,
Forever whole, forever maimed.

Pam and Her Lens

With a camera in hand and a keen, sharp eye,
Pam sees the world as it dances by.
A flick of her wrist, a snap, a click,
She captures the moments—fast or thick.

From golden dawns to twilight's glow,
She finds the magic in things that flow.
A raindrop clinging, a child’s delight,
A city alive in the hush of night.

Through her lens, the world stands still,
Each frame a story, each shot pure skill.
She paints with light, with shadow plays,
Turning the mundane into a blaze.

So if you see her, crouched and keen,
Chasing a moment yet unseen,
Know that Pam, with heart so true,
Is weaving the world in a frame for you.

Matt the Alley Cat

(Verse 1) Yo, let me tell you 'bout a cat named Matt, Feral in the alley where the dogs stay back. Born in the shadows, raised in the night, Green eyes gleamin', always ready to fight.

Claws like daggers, tail sways low, Movin’ through the city where the cold winds blow. No collar, no leash, no rules, no home, Matt walks alone through the streets he roams.

(Hook) Matt the alley cat, king of the street, Survivor in the dark where the wild ones meet. No fear, no chains, just hunger and claws, Livin’ every night by his own street laws.

(Verse 2) Dumpster divin’, dodgin’ the pound, Runnin’ from the sirens when they come around. Battle scars tell the tales of his past, Never lost a fight, yeah, he’s built to last.

Seen it all, from the gutters to the sky, Chased by the rain but he stays bone dry. Other cats watch, wanna be like Matt, But only the toughest could live like that.

(Hook) Matt the alley cat, king of the street, Survivor in the dark where the wild ones meet. No fear, no chains, just hunger and claws, Livin’ every night by his own street laws.

(Bridge) Moonlight hits as he creeps real slow, Ears tuned in for the slightest echo. One life, nine times, gotta make ‘em last, 'Cause the city moves quick but Matt moves fast.

(Verse 3) One night, Matt met a foe too big, Jaws like steel, yeah, the dog was sick. But Matt stood tall, never backed down, One swift strike, then he ran this town.

Legend in the alleys, whispers in the night, Tales of the cat who could scratch, claw, bite. No throne, no castle, just bricks and trash, But Matt’s still the king, yeah, the top of the class.

(Hook) Matt the alley cat, king of the street, Survivor in the dark where the wild ones meet. No fear, no chains, just hunger and claws, Livin’ every night by his own street laws.
