Through moonlit skies, so cold and black,
Glides Gabriel with wings of shadowed lack.
A vampire bat, so sleek and sly,
A silent specter in the sky.
By castle ruins, old and worn,
He wakes to hunt from dusk till morn.
His amber eyes like embers gleam,
A whisper in the mortal dream.
He dances through the tangled trees,
A phantom borne upon the breeze.
The rustling leaves, the night owl’s call,
Echo secrets none recall.
With needle fangs so sharp and bright,
He drinks the life that fuels the night.
Yet never does he take too much,
A careful thief, a fleeting touch.
For Gabriel is cursed, yet wise,
Bound beneath the starless skies.
No mortal fears his fleeting bite,
For he is but a ghost of night.
And when the dawn begins to rise,
He folds his wings, he shuts his eyes.
In hollow dark, he sleeps once more,
'Til dusk unlocks the twilight door.
